This was recorded live at a gig last Friday.  It was our last number of the evening and was a request.  That's Blooby on the guitar and me singing.  I like this song a lot.  Travis Tritt recorded it, but I've only heard Darrell Scott's version.

Not familiar with this song, but I love this version. Superb singing & Blooby's guitar accompaniment is just perfect... it's obvious listening to this that you lads have a real empathy with each other - that kind of magic that happens when two musicians fit together & can read each other so well. Brilliant!

In my ignorance, I had never heard of Darrell Scott until Bruce posted "River Take Me" on the "What are you listenining to now" thread a while ago.  Since then I have added untold numbers of plays to the Youtube videos of that gig. 

This is a blinding version.

I hope I can turn a couple of you into Darrell Scott fans. He's a brilliant songwriter, great singer, and crazy-good instrumentalist (guitar, pedal-steel, mandolin, lap steel, bouzouki, piano...probably the kazoo). The more I listen to him, the more I realize how he turns songs inside out when he plays them. It's astounding how he approaches songs differently, depending on which way the wind is blowing.

I purchased a table right in front of the stage for a July Atlanta gig for my girlfriend, bro, and sister in law. I am giddy with anticipation over seeing him live again.
