*********************** EDIT **********************
Having said Hi and Welcome to many newcomers lately I suddenly realized I had not properly introduced myself  :-[ .....

Well ...HI !!  I'm a 45 year old Norwegian who's been playing the guitar for almost 30. I started writing music and recording it on my cassette-player as soon as I could play three chords without too much fumbling (still have some of those early recordings)
I've had stages in my life where I've been rather busy (education, kids ... ) but have been lucky enough to have had periods where I have been playing in various local bands.
The "best" of whom was LiFF, a band I was a guitarist/songwriter for in the early 90's.  ( We even recorded a demo which can be heard on http://www.myspace.com/themusicofliff  ) A couple of yours ago I bought a Korg D16 HD-recorder but have not used it much. When I got the MBR a whole new world opened up. After a dryspot of 10-15 years in the song-writing department  I suddenly got the inspiration again, and when I discovered this site (after searching google for help on "Card read error" ) I also found a place to get feedback and inspiration from fellow BR-heads.

There's so much wonderful music here, posted by kind wonderful people from all over the globe.

I am also lucky to have my 16 year old daughter ACA fighting me for the MBR  :D
You'll find 2 of her beautiful songs her now (hopefully more will follow).

Thank you all for the warm welcome I've got here and for bearing over with my sometimes weird music.

Geir

PS. aaahhh yes .. one more thing ... Thanks to some of the people here (Tim, Mike, Kody, Tony .... ) I've discovered Soundclick and created two artist-pages there where you can hear some of my music, most of which have been tested out here first  :) :) :)
For the "nice" music: http://www.soundclick.com/Geir
And the .... well the rest : http://www.soundclick.com/Elph
and LiFF is also here now http://www.soundclick.com/liffno

Hello Geir!

I didn't know you were Norwegian! I have freinds in Oslo, you may have heard of one of them, Kristin Skaare. She's a published musician.

Is she tthe one who's played on the (among many others) Eric Andersen/Rick Danko/Jonas Fjeld - album ?? If so, I do have several records on which she performs (VAMP, Anne Grete Preus,  Annbjørg Lien ...) I don't have her solo-album but I'll be sure to check it out!!

Welcome, Welcome, Geir! Come to think of it, I have never posted on this thread either. The BR is great for inspiration, right?! About 6 months before I got my BR, I got some gumption to start tinkering with music again, having set my guitars away for 5 years or better. Cheers!

A warm welcome from Atlantic Canada Geir.  I am very glad you found this site, I enjoy listening to your music big time and I would say that you are a big inspiration to me.  Keep on posting the weird ones along side the mainstream stuff.
