Yeah, this was a fun one to do... I never realised what a bitch that guitar solo is, though. It starts off with insane alternate picking & that run down at the end had me breaking out in a sweat. Who said "shred" started in the '80s? Franny Beecher (Bill Haley's guitarist) was doing it back in the 50s!

As always... it was a joy to work on a tune with Tommy. His knowledge of this genre is second to none, so I felt like I was the student at the feet of the master doing this tune. I was worried that he'd come back to me & say... "No... you're doing it wrong! THIS is how rock n roll should be played!"

I needn't have worried though - Tommy is such a gent that I'm sure even if I did make a hash of it, he'd break it to me gently :)

Thanks for the comments, chaps & thanks to Tommy for a sterling performance on this collab!

Great cover, excellent guitar playing and super vocals. So a wonderful collab.  That solo was awesome.

However, something was bugging me about this. I couldn't put my finger on it. I listened to this three or 4 times and then it dawned on me - the (hollow) snare is slightly out of tune with the music imo. Most noticeable on the intro where is clashes with the bass note. Most bizarre, I've never noticed that before - and unsure if you can retune it or not. Mind you, it could simply be me and my duff hearing??? I wonder if because it's quite high in the mix?

Vista sound great but I think Bruno might be right. I didn't notice it until I read his comment but you can hear it at the very beginning. Outside of that, and that didn't bother me too much it's an outrageously good cover. That's solo is a blankety-blank! I was trying to scat it, I felt like I got the first part right failed on The Middle and could not get the end run to save my life. I commend you Johnny that's awesome solo and this production sounds great.
Tommy, what can I say brother ...your the man!
Rock on!
