Great performance, Hook - the loudness of the resonator uke cuts through the limitations of the medium nicely, and your voice sounds great.

I think the hiss and tape distortion positively add some charm to, and do not at all detract from the recording and listening to it. But more importantly, breaking the recording process down to capturing the performance and feeling is what makes or breaks it - not the actual format (whether digital, tape, wire, cutting vinyl, wax cylinder) in which it was recorded.
