Sounds fab - this has always been one of my favorite instrumentals, and you did a fine job with all the little details.

Great job, Johnny. I love that slide guitar. I think most guitarists (myself included) buy a slide at some point, fart around with it for a few minutes, then throw it a drawer someplace and forget about it. Got any tips for us wannabe slide guitarists (assuming we can remember which drawer we threw it in)? :)

Great song choice too. I've always loved the Santos and Johnny original. But I think my favourite might be the version by Joe Satriani and Robert Fripp from the 2002 album "Strange Beautiful Music". I also watched a live video today by Jeff Beck doing Sleep Walk and it weren't too bad. :)

Thanks chaps & especially you 64... without your guidance I would still be struggling to get the new PC up  running as a recording machine.

As requested, I've put up a post about playing slide:

Hope you chaps find it useful & thanks once again for all the kind comments. Much appreciated :)

Wow this reminds me of Jeff Lynne playing.
There are a few slide players I really like.
Among them are Jeff and George Harrison.
As far as I'm aware George used to use a glass slide to get that really smooth clean sound.
You play this really well and your tone is so close to Jeff Lynne's.

I think the is one of the best posts I've heard on this site. Really stellar playing with great intonation. Damn, I had sweat on the brow just listening. My one personal niggle is that I think the level of the keys get a bit distracting in spots (again, one man's opinion). I wouldn't say anything normally, but I love this post too much.

Just stellar.

On another note, I just bookmarked your video on the modes. I;m going to take the plunge here in the next couple weeks and try to teach an old dog some new tricks. Thank you for doing that.

Hook

This is outrageously good, in fact it is without a doubt my new favorite version of this tune. I often cant decide which is my favorite musical timeframe, the 20s & 30s or the 50's...a track like this makes it obvious.
