Quote from: Blooby on May 03, 2016, 05:13:02 PMOn another note, I just bookmarked your video on the modes. I;m going to take the plunge here in the next couple weeks and try to teach an old dog some new tricks. Thank you for doing that.

Quote from: 64Guitars on May 01, 2016, 04:16:44 PMGreat song choice too. I've always loved the Santos and Johnny original. But I think my favourite might be the version by Joe Satriani and Robert Fripp from the 2002 album "Strange Beautiful Music".

Larry Carlton did a version that is a beacon for the 80's production I came to loathe. Cheesy keyboards, cheesy reverbs, cheesy arrangement with great playing over the top of it. Rant over. Must be the Bushmill's.

Quote from: 64Guitars on May 01, 2016, 04:16:44 PMI think most guitarists (myself included) buy a slide at some point, fart around with it for a few minutes, then throw it a drawer someplace and forget about it.

Please get out of my head.

Wonderful version John. A long standing favorite tune of mine and millions of other folks too...and you've certainly done it justice. That drum thing you do is becoming your trademark. Such a live sound! The slide work is brilliant and your phrasing is spot on. Really well done on all counts.

Bravo maestro!

I think in fact that it is more difficult to play  it " clean"  with slide slide guitar and thank you for the post about the technique
