I'm in another one of my manic music phases  :-[

This is me indulging my psychedelic leanings (of which I have a lot!) in a new self-penned song. I wanted it to sound 'Sgt Pepper' era, but it came out more like Oasis to my ears, lol. And I got so carried away that I added bass too, instead of waiting for a pro job in that department from Flash Harry.

It's played on my Hofner semi and tanglewood acoustic, with lots of the 'SQR TR' tremelo patch (one of my favourite effects...).

And yes... it does say 'allow this poet to stare at your black underwear' in the lyrics  :D

I can hear Sgt. Pepper and Oasis...but most important, I hear Mr. Tim Green!!  Your vocals sound a bit more robust on this one~ Did you use a different method than usual? Sounds good!!

THANKS!!!! I think I used the 'ForNylon' effect (oldrottenhead's favourite) to add some more depth and a trippy feel to the sing-a-long style of the song. And you're right - it is different to how I normally record them! There's also some backing vox going through one of the guitar effects on the bridge to make them 'swirl' a bit.

Kody

Ahhh~ I thought I could sense that COSM sound on your voice....just a bit, but doesn't sound bad at all!! It really works man~ Good song!!

I knew from the first bar that this was going to be a killer. Nice work. Manic is always good I guess, esp for music and staring at black underwear.  :D :D

Kody, well played. What a combo. I hear this too...was thinking something very, very similar. Mr. Green, applause.

you have been a busy bunny, all that country air, a belter with a touch of john lennon in the vocals, and using the guitar effects for the backing vox is cool too, reminds me of xtc. mibbes jemima's kite should do a dukes of stratosfear cover, cos i luv my psychedelia too.

Another great song and I like the psychedelic feel. The country air has obviously affected you in a very creative way!

Could you post the lyrics? They sound intriguing. As somebody that once included the words "and then I saw your dirty underwear, flying like a flag on the line" in a song, we may have similar creative urges....

Cheers,

Last 4 tours with my pals was Liverpool, Hamburg, Dublin, Liverpool, so yes : Love this one altho' the ending is borderline Rutles (which Who I by the way find more than amusing (cheese and onions))

A great song that's gonna get a lot of air-time in my head  :)
