Hey y'all. I've been busy, but I've got a few new ones to post. This song is my effort to fit the mandolin and some heavy guitar together.
It all started when I was asked to write a children's song. More on that later.

That's REALLY LOVELY. I love the playing, the skill, and the vibe of this. It has a nice laid-back West Coast kind of quality that reminded me a bit of the band 'America' (Ventura Highway), and I could hear some nice harmonies floating over the top as a result. Great work with the mandolin - it works so well with the guitars. Pretty perfect I'd say!

Bluesberry

I like it.  I really like that kind of combination of an acoustic instrument played in a folky style, with a heavy electric guitar.  Kinda like what "The Decemberists" get into.  I am moving towards doing a song with this kind of thing, thanks for the fine post and inspiration. Great playing all around.

Thanks for the compliments y'all. I messed around with the drums quite a bit, but never got anything I really liked.  The Mando is great fun when it is not misbehaving. Real chunky in this song.

Way cool combination of instruments, each nicely played - Cool all around composition!  I don't miss the drums at all...

Really imaginative - the Fleet Foxes go heavy! This is really clever, nicely played and put together. It's also a really nice piece of original music. And well produced as well. Look forward to hearing more.

Cheers,

Love the mandolin work.  Would it be possible to post the tune without the electric?  I'd like to A-B the two.  I think the electric tone is eating up too much of the frequency spectrum and ends up cluttering an otherwise fantastic performance.

Just one man's thoughts.

Again, nice job.

I'm glad to hear someone post other instruments.  Jackofall (uke)  Witchita (Bandjo) (dobro),  and now you with a mandoline.  Great  I really like the diversity of all these instruments.  Takes us away from the same old rock thing.  Oh yah don't forget Boss Micro brew with his digeridoo thing. LOL  Great job!
