Just saw this on the SonicState site:

http://www.sonicstate.com/news/2016/04/18/free-daw-for-mac-os-x/

It's a free, open-source DAW for Mac users called LNX Studio. Here's the LNX website:

http://lnxstudio.sourceforge.net/

It looks like an awesome program for creating electronic music (MIDI, synths, drums, etc.) However, I didn't see anything about audio tracks, so I'm not sure if you can add guitar and vocals.

Here's a video where LNX Studio has been fully integrated with the new Roland JP-08 which was announced last October.

LNX Studio is currently available only for Mac OS 10.8.5+. However, the site mentions an alpha release coming soon for Linux. I look forward to trying that out.
