QuickTime for Windows security risk

Apple has dropped support for QuickTime for Windows and there are currently two known vulnerabilities which won't be getting fixed. So, if you have QuickTime installed on your Windows computer, you should uninstall it as soon as possible. Many Windows programs quietly install QuickTime and/or its libraries as part of the program's normal installation. So you might have QuickTime on your computer and not even know it. To be safe, go into Control Panel and browse through the list of installed programs. If you see anything that says QuickTime, uninstall it.

SonicState reports that some Windows DAWs install QuickTime, though they don't say which ones.

I never installed this on my PC... but sure enough, I went into Add/Remove Programmes & it was right there. Uninstalled now. Thanks for the heads-up, 64  %)!

Does this help, or is it what you've already tried?

Here's Microsoft's own page which basically offers the same instructions:

While I was typing this, you posted that you got it. But I thought I'd post it anyway in case it helps someone else.

i followed the above instructions, previously but as quicktime was running i couldn't complete the task. my daughters often connect their iphones to my pc, so i imagine that's why, cos i never use it.
