We were recently approached by a Canadian site www.thebeautifulmusic.com and asked if we would like to submit a cover version for a tribute album dedicated to early 80's UK band The Sound.
We willingly agreed & I got busy with my trusty iPad & Boss BR800.
To my backing track of keyboards, drums, guitar & bass, Graham (Voodoo John) provided the guitar solo & additional guitar. A friend Gary (who I collaborate with under the name The Sea Cadets) provides lead vocals.
After adding backing vocals, I mastered it on the BR800.

I'm pretty pleased with the result. It's a complete departure from the original version, which I hope we've done justice.
Hopefully TBM will accept our contribution.
Please feel free to comment in any shape or form. I'm keen to hear any input.
Thanks

There's a gaping hole in the way we are
With nothing to fill it up anymore
No flesh, no blood, just broken bone
A frame to hang our lives from

We're living like skeletons

Won't someone wake the dead in me?
Won't someone shake the dust off me?
Give me water, give me bread
But don't give me up for dead

We're living like skeletons

OK, it should be alright now. I tried to upload from Dropbox using an iPhone, but it didn't work. Had to resort to my Hudl (Android tablet).

....LMAO!!!!!!

I really liked this. Good dynamics, arrangement, and the lead solo fit like a glove.

I thought the lyrics were excellent, especially this line:
"A frame to hang our lives from"

Well mixed and produced. Never heard of The Sound but I sure liked this.

Well done guys...very nice work.

Sounds great, love the song. Your production and overall sound on this is brilliant. Really enjoyed this. Those wee bits of stinging guitar every now and again are super.

Thanks. You'll be pleased to know our entry has been accepted. The album is in it's early stages, but should be out to coincide with a documentary about Adrian Borland called "Walking In The Opposite Direction".  ;D

Thanks. It's borrowed from the original, but it's me, with a cool double tracked cleaner VJ (panned right).

Wow, from a guitar wizard like yourself, that's high praise indeed.

Thanks everyone for the input. It's very much appreciated. I'll be sure to let you all know when the album is released.
