Hilary, this version is absolutely unknown to me, but it's obvious that the song is Auld Lang Syne...

...but who is Sir Ralf Mac Stone? ..a new member?  welcome Sir

Personally I like this song,  it is true that not understanding the words  :) :-\   it is the melody and the atmosphere that pleased me
Following your comments,  I read the translation on Google and it is true that the text is enough "gnan gnan *            "  ( bébète* )   it s make enough " tourist picture of Scotland "

Bravo for the singing and the very great choirs

(*) en français dans le texte , Idont know how to translate in english : simplistic simple-minded

I don't mind saying that I really like this song. I can see how some people (most people in the UK it seems :) ) might not like it, but it's such a beautiful and catchy melody that I just can't dislike it !!

And you've done a wonderful version here !! Really well done guys !

Oh well ........

Balleo

When I was a kid I bought 45RPM, for the infinite respect I have for Paul McCartney.  I liked at the time and  in this Alf version too...

if truth be told it wasn't that unpopular, i think it was one of the best selling singles in the UK ever, was the first song to sell 2 million records nationwide. but for me it had two things going against it.

1. it was slap bang in the middle of the punk rock explosion.
2. it was ubiquitous, you couldn't be anywhere and not hear it. there was no escape from it.

Not among my favorite Macca songs either (although I don't dislike it): this is a lovely version.

James, your vocals are magic (especially dig those backing vocals) and Alfredo, your guitars sound magnifico! Standout production and performances - well done, gents!
