So I can get an Ovation Idea pre amp for $225 off ebay, could I gave it installed on a uke? Is the body to small to handle the size (that sound bad don't it) will the nylon strings pic up ok? This sounds brilliant to me but only if it will work. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

The point being that the Idea pre amp has the built in mic & recorder.

I would suggest phoning a local guitar luthier Hook and tell them what you are proposing and how much it would cost for them to do it.
Most of them will tell you then if it's feasible,if anyone will know they will.
I suppose as well its down to the size of Uke you want to use.

Well , the new pre amp came today and I have a piezzo pickup coming tomorrow. The guy at Guitar Center is going to install it into my baritone uke for $100. I'm going to put on a set off specialty GCDA baritone strings for that standard uke sound. Gonna take a little over a week...too much gear...too little self control.
