Hi dudes,1st of all ,I confess ,,,I made him do it lol  ;D
I asked johnny to do the backer for this and I added the lead guitar on his request.
I put in the backing vocals and lead vocal.
Johnny again came up with the goods by sending me a great track to work with.
Hope you guys like it,its different from the Hall and oats one but as they say Variety is the spice of life.

Ah Def Leppard. Was working in the record section in WH Smiths when I was a lad, and kept playing Get Your Rocks on, which annoyed the record manager, who told me not to play it 'cos they would never amount to anything'. I think I  had the last laugh over that one! I still have that and a picture disk of 'Hello America' somewhere. Another great cover from the Songcrafter's super group.Your output has been magnificent.

Thanks chaps! When Kenny suggested this I thought "Oh... OK, not my first choice of band or song to cover, but I'll give it a go." Then I remembered doing this song 20+ yrs ago in a band. I was pretty much the only guitarist (the singer also played a bit, but struggled with anything other than open chords & had a weird habit of hitting a bottom E power chord as a place-holder for any chord he didn't know which led to some "interesting" sounds - and often this would lead to a "full and frank exchange of views" in the dressing room afterwards  :D ). Anyway, it was fun to finally do a version of this song & get it right... there are an immense number of overdubs on the original & I wonder how Def Leppard ever played it live.

The first challenge I had was that whammy bar bit on the intro... I don't have a single guitar with a trem. Never got on with them. In the end I did it with a slide - needs must, I suppose :) I have to say that I think Kenny's vocals are far & away better than Joe Elliot  - Kenny is SUCH a great vocalist & it really is a joy to work with him. He plays a mean solo on this too :)
