i been looking at monitors to use with my br800, for bouncing and mastering.

i  am drawn to M-Audio AV32 Monitors (Pair) or Behringer MS16 Studio Monitors, Pair.

they are both in my size and price range, so any advice is welcome. ie would you recommend them etc

i also like the look of Denon DN-303S 3'' Active Multimedia Monitors, Pair.

but am not sure if they are any good as studio monitors.

any advice would be welcome.

i am not looking for big monitors something small i can use at home, and that will give me a better picture of the mix i want to achieve than headphones would.

Look on Ebay - Tannoy Reveal, Alesis M1's, Truth 2031's.

Look for the active versions, these have amps built into the speakers, essential for your production space. :)

For your space and budget, I'd tend toward the M-Audio AV32s. I haven't heard them, but they look a lot like my Samson powered monitors, which I like a lot.

I suspect that the Denons will be designed for listening in a 'hifi' sense and not in a critical analytical sense. Denon have made nice kit in the past but it's consumer focussed rather than pro focussed.

They are likely to exhibit some colouration, i.e. low-end boost and a bit of lift in the upper mids. Edirol (another Roland brand) did some small monitors which I remember weren't too slack.

And then there are these:

which have a USB interface built in - so you get a pair of monitors and a stereo audio interface for £75

Often I'm hard-pressed to hear this stuff...

But even I can spot the colouration on those!
