i had a go at this earlier https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=24937.0 is one of my all time favourite songs. 1st go was done very quickly on my microbr, i had just learned to play the song (although i've known it for years).

i thought i need to do this properly on my BR800.

i was worried (probably rightly) that i would lose the fragility of the 1st take. so i sang it in my Scottish accent this time.

anyway i am not sure if this is any better or worse than my first go but it's a completely different beast.

update replaced original file with a mix done on pc monitors as i wasn't happy with mix done on headphones. hope this mix is a bit clearer.
There's a girl down in the corner
I think she's looking at you
And now she starts to smile
Oh, I think she's coming over
She's gonna talk to you
So what do you do

I think she's feeling lonely
And wants someone to hold
Her arms around tonight
So why don't you go on
And ask her if she wants
To spend the night with you
Two strangers out of blue

When you wake up in the morning
In an unknown bed
With an unknown girl
You can bite her in the ear
And kiss her where you want
But don't let her too close

I think she's feeling lonely
And wants someone to hold
Her arms around tonight
So why don't you go on
And ask her if she wants
To spend the night with you
Two strangers out of blue

I think she's feeling lonely
And wants someone to hold
Her arms around tonight
So why don't you go on
And ask her if she wants
To spend the night with you

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

cheers guys.

hi Alex, i used my microbr as a mic via the line in. that way i can use the fornylon effect with stereo tap delay, i haven't worked out how to get that effect with the br800 yet.

one other problem i am having, is not having monitors for mastering. i recently purchased a set of sennheiser hd 201 headphones for mastering. i had a pair years ago that seemed perfect for the job. however this new pair doesn't seem to  be as good. the song sounds great on those headphones however i just heard this mix in my car stereo and it sounds terrible, really bass heavy, and not at all subtle, so i think i will try a remix with my pc monitors to see if i can get a better balanced mix.

re monitors been looking at monitors, am drawn to M-Audio AV32 Monitors (Pair) or Behringer MS16 Studio Monitors, Pair. they are both in my size and price range, so any advice is welcome.

i also like the look of Denon DN-303S 3'' Active Multimedia Monitors, Pair but not sure if they are any good as studio monitors.

I like specialy the Perfect balance between the voice and the guitar
The athmosphere which gets free is really mesmerizing

And thank you for the words

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
