Apologies for the drive-by posting. I'm back from my mate's pub for 24 hours & I found this in my inbox from Kenny, and had to post it - he's done such a great job on the vocals here. This is a TOUGH song to sing, but my, oh, my, he's pulled it off. My schedule is still a bit mad so I'll post & comment as & when I can.

Thanks for listening, chaps  :)

I always thought the original was just so much pretentious tosh, beneath it though is an okay song, arguably.   I did an indie and somewhat irreverent take on it myself for the 80's v2 fest last year

Love the rock treatment here though, Robbomac, blinding guitar work, huge vocal.  Prefer it to the original by a mile.  Really like the organ and that vocal could lift the roof off a stadium.  And the guitars fly.

Johnny and I were discussing Thin Lizzy after doing a couple of thier numbers and he mentioned Midge ure had toured with them replacing Gary Moore.
He realy is a great guitar player and doesn't get to showcase his playing on his solo work and Johnny said he wondered hoe Vienna would sound if it was more guitar based so this came out.
It's a difficult song to get round as the high notes sit on a weird sustained bit on the end before lifting again.
Johnnys guitar at the end is absolutely fantastic and the fluency of the runs amazes me.
Always a pleasure to work with him.

Brilliant!!

I am with the sentiment that this song is definitely helped by the more rocky treatment. The original - good though it is - is improved by a good helping of cajones, via the lads. Great singing, super stuff, and some jaw dropping guitar runs that really take this song to new heights.

Roockkkkkkk!

Wow! This is spectacular! Expressive vocal and guitar-playing is very convincing!
