Hi all, I recently finished another track in my acoustic project: the Allman Brothers' "Blue Sky". I'm not much of a singer, so I try to only pick songs with minimal vocals that I can sneak by. Add to that, I kept the song in the key of E which is tough - you either have to go lower or higher (Dickey Betts himself would later change to key to G so his aging voice could more easily sing it).

Anyways, I hope you like!

In my opinion you're a singer! Your voice sounds great on this!

Fine playing as well! The resonator guitar sounds very good! Brilliant solo, too!

One of my favorite tunes. Love the original, but that version off 2nd Set is something to behold. Like your first post, it has a great back porch vibe to it.

Very cool.

Thanks all, really appreciate it!

And I agree, Blooby, it's tough to beat Dickey & Warren on "Blue Sky" in the early 90s. That Stonybrook with Duane & Dickey might be my favorite, but some of the more recent versions with Derek and Warren are pretty sweet too. I especially loved when they'd mix "Little Martha" and "Blue sky" all into one jam - total ear candy.

very good sound... I'm a fan of dobro...
