OH.

GOODNESS.

I've been playing this thing in the living room through the 112 cabinet:

I've been having a lot of fun. But this evening I've just lugged it up to the broom-cupboard (which I haven't been in since November last year). I played around for a bit thinking "wow, a lot of this room rattles when you're playing a loud amp!".

Then I got the balanced line cables out and plugged both line outs into the desk. I disconnected the speaker (doesn't need a speaker load to run safely), panned the two amps left and right in the studio monitors and... HOLY F**K!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

This thing is a monster!

I've been digging the amp and its cab for a few days. But I'm not planning on gigging, and this thing is a bit loud if you're not careful. It can do the "big amp" sound at very low volumes, but you still tend to turn it up. And it's not the best looking piece of furniture :D

The line out stuff - which is what I wanted it for (and the amp modelling) - is completely WOW. I'd say I prefer this thing through my studio monitors (or headphones on the amp) at the moment. That could be because I haven't broken the speaker in on the cab, or it might even be that the speaker is a bit too efficient and clean sounding for my taste maybe (I might try whacking the amp through my Laney's speaker and see what happens).

I'll probably say more about it later - there is SO much to it. It's really simple but I haven't scratched the surface soundwise - but for now, loving it... might even inspire me to get going again! :)

Looks like a lovely piece of kit... and it's a Yamaha, which means it will probably work under water it'll be that reliable. I used to love my Marshall Anniversary but the damn thing was always in for repairs - it was like giving it pocket money. Can't wait to hear what this sounds like in your capable hands :)
