After a long holiday at the repairers, my machine has now come back.  Here's a piece written for classical guitar by Gary Ryan. The score is very interesting, with instructions to make the sound of a pig, a galloping horse, squeaks and bumps etc. You have to use your nail as a plectrum and play strings behind the nut....it's quite crazy which is why I love it. I hope you like my less than perfect performance of it...it's darn difficult in places!

Less than perfect? I'm in awe. Just fantastic stuff - was this just one guitar? Sounds like two to me!!! What a lovely piece, great fun and you played it beautifully to my ear. And the recording is good as well.

Very, very well done indeed. And a real joy to listen to.

Cheers,

Nigel

Fantastic playing! Beautiful, unforced flow. Had to play it again, because there was a lot going on. I'm very impressed and am glad you post music here.

Glad you got your Micro back - If mine was ever broken/lost/stolen I would immediately have to go to the music store and get robbed for full price. I thought the "newness" (Bought it used) would wear off by now, but this is one of the best treats I ever got myself. Wouldn't want to be without it.

See you around,

Mark

Robert Johnson supposedly sold his soul to the devil to get his guitar skills. I don't know what YOU sold to get yours, but it was well worth it. This is simply stunning - kind of a blues-bluegrass hybrid. As always, you leave me jealous and inspired in equal measure.

Aw! Thanks guys. I'm playing it on Wednesday night at our guitar society. This month's theme is 'Spanish or American'. This is from Gary Ryan's 'Themes from the Wild West' so definitely American. I emailed this one to the composer himself (I had lessons with him a while ago now - before he became one the best guitarists in the blinkin' world!)....I'll be chuffed if he replies.
