I started listening to Gary Moore when he was in Colosseum II (I still have the cassette tape of the album in the loft :-) ). I loved the variations thing he did with Julian Lloyd Webber.  I was surprised when he went rock and loved it, and even more surprised went Blues. Always a consummate guitarist - and could always tell it was him playing it.

This is a wonderful tribute, fantastic sounds and playing.

I hear plenty of Moore in your playing. Much like him, you don't let your ample chops get in the way of your musical sensibilities. Loving the opening lead tone here.

Killer post. I am now going to dig out "Hurricane" off the Back on the Streets album. Not quite a tasty as your track here, but it will fill my Gary Moore listening quota for the day (and then some).

Hey... great playing Johnny. Forgetting about the Gary Moore comparisons, this is a great piece of playing, with bags of your own identity. I think you can call this your own piece... and brilliant it is. WOW!!!

As people have mentioned the late great Gary Moore, I will add my 2p. I saw him in about 1989 in Belfast I think it was, on the After the War Tour. He was coming towards the end of his rock phase. I think he went blues v shortly after. BUT, from what i remember it was absolutely mind blowing. I guess there was a lot of metal heads just wanting loud metal riffing, etc. Yes he gave a bit of this, but a whole lot more... and even the most neanderthal metal heads were just standing in awe at some of the most expressive, emotional, heartfelt guitar playing they had ever seen. Amazing.

Johnny, this is brill and a great tribute.
