Well... it's taken me about five years but I've finally got round to doing a tribute to one of my ultimate guitar heroes/influences/idols.

Kenny's currently working on a version of this tune which will have lyrics & probably won't be Gary Moore related (apart from the fact that it'll have the same chord progression that I shamelessly "borrowed" from a mixture of different Gary Moore tunes)... but here it is in it's instrumental guise...

I was lucky enough to see the man a few months before his untimely demise, regrettably it was out side and the sound wasn't great but good enough to hear the quality of his playing. Talking about quality, to my ears this is as good as it gets although I will look forward to hearing it with a Kenny Mac vocal. Brilliant.   Willie

Back for another listen, that Harley Benton sounds great although I believe the fingers may
have something to do with it. ;)    Willie

Cheers Willie... yeah, I saw Gary on the "Still Got The Blues" tour at Newcastle City Hall and he was in fine fettle. I've also got that Phil Lynott tribute gig on DVD with Eric Bell, Scott Gorham & Brian Robertson and Gary playing all the old Thin Lizzy stuff... electrifying!

Johnny, this is an extraordinary tribute to your guitar hero, Gary Moore. Who was without a doubt a virtuoso blues guitarist and more..... The chord progressions you are using make an excellent backing track for your own virtuoso playing. Nicely done! I look forward to hearing what Kenny does with it vocally!

You're a fantastic composer and guitarist! Enjoyed each moment of your song. Thanks for the story on the video. I know Gary Moore, but now I know much more about him and his bands. Thanks for sharing memories - how you beacme familiar with his music!
