I still swear by the old BR600-
Ive tried the BR80 and the BR800 and find the 600 is still the one for me.
As a matter of fact I picked up a spare 600 last year for 60 lids- ;D ;D ;D ;D
Also I still believe in Chordpule for my backers
So basics it still is for me -

i am so used to recording to either my microbr or my br800, even tho i know my way around DAWs like cubase . so much so, in case you hadn't noticed i recently bought a korg nanokey2 usb midi keyboard. to control it and attach it to vst instruments which are not standalone. i fire up cubase 5. but rather than recording anything in cubase, i use the line out and record directly into one of my BRs. i feel i have more control that way. i might not be art that comes out the other end, but hey maybe one day with some practice.............

one bad habit i have developed over the years in bouncing and mastering using headphones. i think it is time to invest in some monitors, especially for use with my br800. can anyone recommend a decent pair of monitors suitable for home use.

The big problem with monitors, in my humble opinion, is that they never sell them in pairs. You have to buy them separately and that drives the cost way up. Like any of the toys that we love you could spend 200 - $2,000, watch musiciansfriend.com stupid deal of the day and you might get a good deal. I like my cheap Samson ones but I know they're discontinued now. I wouldn't spend too much,  anything is probably better than just headphones. The key is to go back and forth and get a mix that sounds good on both, toss in your car speakers also.
