PoliceFest (banner image missing)

I didn't vote for the Police Fest, and this song had much to do with that.  You see I knew that if there was a
Police fest then I wouldn't be able to look myself in the eye if I didn't attempt Message in a Bottle.  For years - decades - I've been held in-trance by The Riff.  It's always been my demon, my bete noir, my Nemesis.  It's the riff that creeps up on you in a quiet moment and whispers in your ear; "you'll never really be a proper guitar player, others can play me easily, not you.  Your fingers are too fat.  You don't have the talent.  Did you consider another hobby?"

So here's my Waterloo, my Custer's Last Stand.

Massage in a Brothel

And now I have to go and look for a message in another bottle...

God help me.

Nice one Nick ! You can play that riff !

I know what you mean - we used to play this song in my first band and I know I used to play the riff incorrectly. I now know that the 3rd note of each of the chords is played 2 frets higher than the normal note if you know what I mean ? Without the benefit of the internet and guitar tab at the time, I was none the wiser. I knew something wasn't right but couldn't work out what it was. When I finally found out what the correct notes were, many years later, it's a riff I've always struggled with too. Always have a bit of trouble stretching for that 3rd note.

Anyway, I ramble... great version Nick and accurately covered riff and other guitar parts!

Well done brother, I'm not one for riff playing so I never would have been able to pull this off but you really did a bang up job, great listen.
Rock on!

Riffage aside - that Stuart Copeland sure was an excellent percussionist.
Great cover.
There is a beautiful symphony playing within us all..

I'd got enough of the riff after about 20 minutes recording, the real work was in making a viable drum backer.  I agree, Stuart Copeland is some kind of drum-god.
