As I mentioned in the thread "Beat ... not so good",  I kinda miss some drum patterns on the MBR. I said that I had overcome the problem of not having a 6/4 pattern for a song of mine ... Well here's the result

This is a song that's gone through many phases
This is a song that started as a kinda pop-tune
This is a song that's been recorded with my brother playing "congas" on a plastic bucket
This is a song that's now being posted as a punk-jazz train-wreck of a song

here goes nothing :

I...am...a...Passenger on this train wreck!!! Love it! Has a little bit of a Social Distortion feel - love that band. And the "I am" lines - Check out Fear's "I am a doctor" - Reminds me of that a little bit, which brings back memories because I was immersed in punk for a while  ;D

Great stuff!!!

I did some homework for you so you wouldn't have to muck around:

Social Distortion (I think all their videos are in links on this page, too)

Fear was a little tougher - can't believe nobody is posting that cool band anymore....

Peace,

Mark

I really love your lyrics and vocal on this Geir, it sounds really good.  This reminds me of a lot of bands we have here in the east coast of Canada.  Great Big Sea is the most well known of this type of band, but there are many.  Your song would fit in very nicely on any stage in the east coast of Canada, and would get a huge round of applause.  I think this is a most excellent song and a mighty fine production also.  Did you play that bass yourself? excellent.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Many thanks all of you!!!!
Thanks for the link Mark, unfortunately i got "This video is not available in your country." but a search brought up a lot of SD videos to watch. Great stuff.

Thank you for the kind words Osckilo.

And BB: thanx a lot for your warming words. Regarding lyrics I'm always worried that what sound good in my Norwegian mind don't come out that way in English. And I would love to play in Canada (I would need an extra guitarist tho' .... ;) ) I was kinda happy with the bass. I know it's some sloppy playing there but even my brother, who's a drummer and always say I play bass like a guitarist, liked it ...

cheers

That was great Geir.  Wouldn't worry about the lyrics one little bit.  You should hear the way my English lyrics come out in Norwegian.

So THATS what punk jazz sounds like?

Almost a bit rock a billy/punk there to.  If you threw in a telecaster.
