had some stuff on my br800 for the past week and just kept adding bits not knowing where it was gonna end, although song took about a week to complete it was all done in short sporadic bursts. so not a great deal of time spent recording, but a lot of time spent thinking about what i was gonna do. still not sure i am finished with it, i might redo the vocals on the microbr, but if anyone fancies taking over on the lead guitar parts be my guest.

anyway it's a song about loss, there have been a lot of quite famous people dying but, where i am there have been a few people passing away too, friends, friends of friends etc and i am also aware, that a number of our songcrafters have suffered some great losses too.

anyway that is what informed the song, tho i am not sure what has actually come out the other ends, hopefully not a boring dirge.

but too anyone who has had a recent loss my thoughts are with you and yours.

will the world still turn
if your shadow never falls again
will the sun still shine
if i never see your face
will we all go on
though you're no longer here
will the world still turn
will i ever smile
if i never hear you laugh again
will the birds still sing
if your shadow never falls
will i have the strength
the strength to carry on
will the world still turn
will i crash and burn
will i lose my way
will i have the will
to carry on
will i sing the songs
i made for you
will the world still turn
i will carry on
keep your memory alive
i will not forget
till the day i die
i will sing your songs
cause i realise
that the world still turns
will the world still turn

This sounds pretty damn good. Your start sounds great....them stabbing chords are really strong.......

At first, I was wondering when the key change was going to come. By the end, I'm glad it stayed a s a vamp. If I can eke out some time tomorrow (and nobody jumps on it), I'd like to try my hand at a solo. What would be really cool, though, is Bruno with his violin. Maybe add some distortion and delay a la Jerry Goodman or Allen Sloan.

Peace.

Good song Jim, enjoyed that, quite transfixing and the words are great.

I really like this song. The lead sounds perfect just as is. It sounds like a well put together tune to me.

Good song, lyrics and music. I like all the individual parts, and it's great to hear you doing a fuller production. Nice work James!

here is a link to the unedited wav mixdown from the br800 that i sent to blooby for anyone that wants to add. https://onedrive.live.com/?id=48716FDA7DC89AEB!2134&cid=48716FDA7DC89AEB

that way if anyone adds and sends me their contribution ie the individual tracks i can transfer them to my br800 and do a remix with everything in sync.

when i get a chance i will try and do a mix minus vocals and lead guitar.

This is excellent. I love the way the tune just sits on a single chord for large sections - it's quite a brave thing to do and you pull it off brilliantly & it allows the poignant lyrics to take centre stage. Might have a go at doing a bit of lead for this :)
