i got my jasmine electro acoustic  and br800 out. intention being to try a new song i had been working on (a tribute i suppose), via the onboard mics and guitar in. live in the living room.

was messing about with settings as the song formed, but then rather than do it live, i started layering guitar tracks and started experimenting.

probably too much layering, as it sounds like mud to me. but i was just trying to mux things up by approaching things a bit differently.

we want the future now
you went another way
saw the colours in a different light
took the past and made it new
gave us the future now
put on the greatest show
and it was wonderful
and it was beautiful
now i don't know
which way to turn
too much to take in
so many avenues
closed to discussion
open to abuse
there's too much to take in
so many avenues
we want the future now
always in the right place
forever in the know
all the pretty girls and boys
they want the future now
put on the greatest show
and it was wonderful
and it was beautiful
they want the future now
put on the greatest show etc

Muddy, yes, but something interesting is going on here. I would rethink the mix a tad (guitars overpowering drums & keys). There's something alluring about this one.

like i said, i was trying to do something a bit different. so when i mixed it, i turned the main guitar tracks down in the mix and guitar tracks i had originally earmarked as background ambience, well i brought them to the fore. i may try a remix or i may just go for a live in the living room version.  ;D ;D

Hook

I like the song a lot but it does get a little muddy. I know you like stereo tracks (as do i) you could try uncoupling some of them and lessen the stereo field or eliminate it and pan it out some. What's the bass from? Messing around with the eq might make a big difference here also.
Rock on!
