How to store multiple drum tracks (arrangements) at once?

Hello folks,

At the moment, I am mainly using my micro BR as a substitute for our frequently absent drummer. I have already created all the necessary arrangements for most of our songs anyway. So, I want to be able to have each arrangent (on it's own) on the BR. The problem is that each arrangement is on a different backup files on my computer. i.e, I have backed up all of the song files, and within them, are the arrangement files.

Because my memory card isnt big enough to fit all of the songs onto it, I was wondering if was possible to plug the BR into my computer via the usb cable, and to just drag and drop all of the arrangement files only, onto the BR? I have tried a couple of times, using different methods. The main problem seems to be that because all of the songs are in seperate backup files on my computer, all of the arrangements files have the same name, which is... ARRANGE3.BR1. So, if I try and put more than one arrangement onto the BR, it just replaces it, rather than adding it. So, I then tried changing the name of the file to ARRANGE2.BR1 or something... but with no success.

I probaby haven't explained it very well... but if anyone understands my problem, and has a solution, I will be most grateful. Thanks,

Steve.

Hi steve....
I havn't tried this but I think it will work:
* Use an empty card (or at least not full)
* create the number of empty songs you need
* copy the ARRANGE3.BR1 to each of the song folders:
ROLAND\BR0\SONG0000.BR0\
ROLAND\BR0\SONG0001.BR0\
ROLAND\BR0\SONG0002.BR0\
... etc.

on the BR

Yes, as Geir said, you can copy the ARRANGE3.BR1 files to your BR, as long as each one is in a separate song folder. You should use the BR to create each of these songs (see page 28 of the Micro BR manual). This is important because there are other files created in the song folders which the BR needs. Don't worry about the memory card space consumed by these songs. It is very little if you don't record any tracks (about 100kb per song, so the 128MB card that came with your Micro BR will hold over 1,000 such songs).

You should rename each song so that you can easily distinguish them and find the song you're looking for (see page 59 of the Micro BR manual).
