There's a guitarist on the local circuit on Teesside called Graham Russell, a great bloke & fantastic player. I was talking to him at a gig once & he told me that if he won the lottery, he'd buy the most expensive 1959 Les Paul he could find. Then he'd hack a Floyd Rose trem into it with a blunt chisel & do a Van Halen style paint job on it with a can of Dulux... just to annoy all the Gibson anoraks when he played it at a gig.

Talking of such things... have you seen what John Mayall has done to a perfectly good strat?



I mean, he's done a pretty good job of it, but it's still sacrilege!
