Here's a record I've been kicking around for months, like an old football.

It's a song about how history repeats.  I was in two minds about putting it in for the Peace fest but I think it's relevant in that one of the inspirations for it is that there's been a major European or World war shortly after the turn of each of the last four centuries (30 Years War, Wars of the Spanish Succession, Napoleonic Wars, Great War), and it's shaping up for another any time soon.

It has a kind of a new age-y feel about it

Here Comes the Past Again
w/m Nick Morgan

Ahhh......... it's okay
It's everywhere
It's everywhere
It's everywhere

-----------

I live the future
I live the past
I'm from the future
I'm from the past
I meet the future
I use the past
Here comes the future
Here comes the past...

-----------

It goes around
It comes around
It is today -
It's yesterday
It goes around
It comes around
It's everywhere
It's always...

-----------

Ahhh......... it's okay
It's everywhere
It's everywhere
It's everywhere

-----------

I see the future
I see the past
Here comes the future
Here comes the past
It comes to guide us
It comes to pass
It comes to haunt us
It bites your ass...

-----------

It goes around
It comes around
It is today -
It's yesterday
It goes around
It comes around
It's everywhere
It's always...

-----------

Ahhh......... it's okay
It's everywhere
It's everywhere
It's everywhere

After the second listen I can hear things I missed in the first one. Love this Nick. You did a great job with this, I love these less mainstream types of song for the creativity and imagination.

Ethereal and dreamy stuff.  I particularly like the instrumentation towards the end of the piece.  Very inventive.

Great use of light and shade Nick it builds beautifully. Regretably I think you could be right as regards a conflict before too much longer, history proves that a major war has taken place at roughly 30 year intervals. I hope to God we're wrong. Great post.  Willie

Original & brilliant piece of work! Sadly I think you may be right in your analysis.

Good piece of work Nick. There was something quite hypnotic about that.

Nice to hear some different grooves and different vibes. What's the time signature in the first section?

Very cool.

Thanks for listening, everyone.

Leigh - the bulk of the song is 5/4 then the guitar section goes to 4/4. I had it in mind that the conventional part should sound "odd" compared with the 5/4. I'm not sure what the timing is on the coda part.

Memorizing my brother, I totally dig the time signitures and your creativity is just spell binding.
Rock on!
