So shocked to hear the news this morning - another of my teen idols gone. Truly one of rock's greatest artists and a massive influence on my musical tastes.

Was fortunate to see him on the Glass Spider Tour in 1987 at Maine Road, Manchester. A fantastic showman.

God bless.

Sad news. Particularly sad for his family. No need to be a fan to recognise his influence.
RIP David.

I feel quite bereft.

Same here.  I just feel empty.

Quote from: Nick_ODH on January 11, 2016, 01:15:59 AMWhy is he not Sir David Bowie?  Even Damon Albarn has an OBE.

Bowie was offered a knighthood in 2003, but turned it down.

Seeing the ads for his last album when they started running on TV last week, I was struck by how old & frail he looked. Still... you just don't expect the news when it comes. I was in shock all day yesterday. Everything that can be said about him has already been said, so I won't bang on about the "soundtrack to my youth..." and all that. Suffice to say we've lost an important artist and a great talent.
