It's not very christmassy, but I felt the need to share this little Warren Zevon cover.
It was all done using the mics on the BR800, which I now think sound great.
Only 3 tracks, rhythm guitar, vocals and a couple of guitar solos overdubbed using the same beat up old acoustic guitar.

I hope you like.

Nice one James, Good clear sounds from your BR800...
I kept getting Malware warnings through the vid..
You have done well with the 800 mics I always have trouble with them, and end up putting my MBR mic through..
Well done ....
Merry Christmas.........

Thanks man, there shouldn't be any malware, it's just a you tube link, I'm not sure yet how to set the song up otherwise.
My vocals would be the dodgiest part of this whole excursion.
Warmest regards,

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Thanks man, I have always loved this song, it paints such a vivid picture of dangerous jungle mercenaries and general bad shit going down.
I had recently watched the old Rod Taylor film The Mercenaries (Dark of the Sun) and it got me thinking about the song.
So, I was alone in a hotel room with an acoustic guitar and the BR 800, half a bottle of gin and maybe a dozen beers later I had the tune down.
Warmest regards,

You're voice sounds great.  It really captures the essence of the song.  The guitars are really excellent.  I love the lead work.  You've got some serious chops.

This is a great song.  I've sung it to myself ever since I first heard it on my first copy of "Excitable Boy".  I saw Warren Zevon in a one man show some 30 years ago.  Man, what a talent.  What a songwriter.  You've taken me back.  Thank you.
