I've also ordered a gig bag, a foldable stand ... And one of these: Superlux E205
I know it's not the best in the world, but it's all I can afford right now.

Can't wait ... Is it here yet :)

i would dearly love  rode nta1a condensor mic, for use with my br800 but it is way out of my price range.

so i'd be very interested in how you get on with the superlux.

I don't get on with my Rode mic and use the internal mics on the BR80 now.

I haven't tried one (maybe somebody can chime in), but I am seeing very good revviews for the Audio Technica At2020. They are more than twice as affodable as the RODE. Review here: https://www.soundonsound.com/sos/feb06/articles/at2020.htm

I have (due to the extreme kindness of a friend) an audio technica 2035 and it's spectacular sounding..especially though my behrrenger pre amp. I'm also pleasantly surprised by the quality of my cheapo $20 Pyle handheld condenser. I'm looking forward to hearing your new bass and mic!

Nice purchases! I think you'll find the Superlux large condenser mic to be very acceptable, especially for the price. A few years back I bought a matched set of Superlux H8K small condenser mics. I use them primarily to record my acoustic guitar in an XY pattern. They sound good and the construction quality is good as well.
