Hi all,

I do hope everyone here likes this recording. It's just two instrument tracks. I'm using my Epiphone archtop (Zephyr Regent) and my greek bouzouki - the brand name is Mythos which translates to myth. I think all greek bouzoukis are hand made but I'm not sure. Perhaps someone can tell me if they are better informed than me.

Regarding the recording:

Very nice clean sound on the guitar and the bouzouki.  I really like the tone of the two instruments together.  They do seem to get a little out of synch with each other from time to time.  If that was unintentional, you should try recording to a click track.  If the click track recording lacks the emotion you desire, you could try a guide track instead - by that, I mean record a rough track of the performance with you counting or audibly tapping your foot to the music, then overdub a nice guitar track and a bouzouki track over the guide track, then mute the guide track and you should be left with a more synchronized recording of the two performances.

Regarding the bouzouki:

They are beautiful instruments.  I'm not familiar at all with that brand.  Is it a four course bouzouki?  It sounds lovely.

Bostjan, I used a three course bouzouki and the chrismas carol is out of time at the very end on the second last chord where I go to 2/4 instead of 4/4 and also I think out of time when the repeat begins.

Thanks for the feedback I'll do what I can to change it.

I am glad you liked my recording Alex and thanks for the information. It puts me in a fighting mood :)

Nick.
