Armenian Tune (Oud)

Here's an attempted Oud piece with guitar and drum. I've found a great teacher now and studying with him. This is definitely my favourite instrument at the moment!

I love this... it's such an evocative sound. The music is plaintive and touching. You play this instrument so beautifully well. Bravo!

The strange thing is, I searched for an oud teacher and couldn't find one without going to London or having skype lessons. Then an accomplished Oud player just 'appeared' out of no-where after I spoke to someone who knew him..... and he lives five minutes from me! He has played on famous film sound tracks - (The Passion of the Christ) and is in great demand on TV and CD recordings.

btw i am a bit obsessed with an armenian song i heard called sourp sourp. it is an old religious anthemn.
