"Slip" a Hook original (iRig pick up & app)

So this is 2 mono tracks of Guitalele, using the iRig pick up and correlating app (amplitude acoustic). I used the monitor out on the pick up into the line in of the br80. I think it sounds pretty damn good! I added a vocal & an Ambient Synth app track and a new synth app that I got today but cant remember the name of. I messed with the pick up sound(in app), wrote & recorded the song in about an hour and a half, this afternoon in the car.

The iRig sounds smooth and clear, with lots of definition. There's a close-miked quality to the sound but that's really what it is, after all. Really digging that spooky sounding synth, too!

Seriously considering getting one of these, even though I'm already over geared-up!

magic, ambient background sounds bring to mind "lost in space" and the original "star trek" tv. great recording with your new/latest gear (i can't keep up with your purchases). did i say bloody magic.

you know i might just buy that "akia mpk mini" i saw in the second hand store for £40.

Oh yeah, that guitalele sounds damn fine.  I just found out I am getting one of these IRig acoustic mics for christmas. I love the way this sounds.  Like Cuth says, sounds like you played into a mic without all the hassle of setting up a mic, and mic placement and not moving around too much, and trying to not make too much sound etc.  It sounds damn fine.  Great post.

very cool hook, the lyrics are pretty dark and that's swirling swell of ambiance adds a bit of menace to the music.

Interesting track... Definitely got the spaced out vibe. Love the accuracy of your picking & that synth part takes it to a whole other level.
