Eric Bogle  is a folk singer-songwriter from Australia. Scottish-born, he emigrated to Australia in 1969, and currently lives near Adelaide, South Australia. Bogle's songs have covered a variety of topics, many of them have been covered by other artists. Two of his best known songs are "No Man's Land" (or "The Green Fields of France")

Thank to Tommy (fenderbender) for this collaboration with his  great voice for singing this song

I was recently in a quite small village of Provence, in France where there was an exposure about the war of 14-18 and the young men of this village who died (12) but there is all along this war, the most murderess of the history of the humanity,   thousands and thousands  young men of all the countries taken in this storm; Africans, German, English, French, Australian, Canadian....and more others nationalities

In this period in France we are confronted to a new war type (terrorism),  this song is sadly on the actuality

Many thanks for sending me your recording of my song, and my apologies for the delay in replying, but I only got back home from my holiday in Japan a couple of days ago....

I liked your recording, it is now in my iTunes library along with many other versions. Thomas has a nice voice (deep too!). I don't care who sings my songs, whether they are famous or unknown, it always gives me the same feeling of quiet pride and satisfaction.

Please forward me your friend's video, I would like to see it.
