Really interesting thread ... Why do I make music? Dunno, its something I've always done since I can remember. Its something that makes me happy and calm and content etc. Do I want fame and fortune? I dunno, we all dream, but then again ..... If I could go back in time, and show the teen me all that I've done, and showed him my guitars and gear and recordings, I think he would be super stoked and impressed. So I guess, job done :-)
Do we all dream that one of our tracks gets a million hits? Of course and its always a possibility, if somewhat unlikely. So we plod on with a smile on our face, on our own little journey, push our bar, little by little - and if things happen along the way - then that's a bonus. Would I ever stop doing this? Never, not on your nelly, its what I do and who I am! I'm also intrigued at the idea that this music we make will live on, long after we are all 6 feet under - and so many artists were only discovered long after their passing - it could be that songcrafters could be famous in 100 years or more, maybe .... its possible ... if somewhat unlikely :-) But I love that idea!

So Super 8, keep doing what you are doing, and love every moment of it :-)

Hey, this a great thread with some new voices.  Welcome to the party.

My feedback to you all on posting is that some of the long posts need a few "hard returns" (ie hit enter more often at the end of a sentence to break the text into paragraphs). Its hard for my tired eyes to read those big blocks of text.

I watched the video Paul. I really enjoyed it. I can tell that you enjoy your music. Its great to have an outlet for your talent and be able to share it with others.

The good thing about this site is that you do get feedback if you want it. I have shared my recorded music with family and friends over the years and only rarely does anyone say anything about it. I do it for me but I don't mind if someone else likes it too.

Anyway, good luck with the recording process.  I'm back in my studio after a long break due to work pressures. I'm enjoying it immensely. Every time I'm in here I learn something about the process. I'm sure its the same for you.

Cheers,

Ian
