Hi Folks........seeing as no-one took up the challenge to do the vocals for Stay on the Collaborations section my little girl thought she would give it a go.

It sounds a bit nasal however i don't know how to explain how to project her voice as i have no idea how to sing and to compound this problem she has a bit of a cold. She has had no vocal training at all and as most of you know she's only 8 so any pointers are welcome. I wasn't planning on posting this but she asked me to so here it is........

Just a roadie again.....

good lawd ... she is 8 ... so, so well done.  If she is enjoying it, that is all that is important.  I started music at that age because I wanted to not because I was pushed.  I only wish we had gadgets like the MBR when I was young.  I had a turntable.

Big props to your daughter.

That is really super.  Her voice has a maturity to it that makes it sound like she is older, my advice is get her to vocal lessons pronto, you have a MAJOR singer here.  A bit of proper lessons and she will be INCREDIBLE.  You have really talented daughters for sure.  Get her to somebody to teach her to project and breath and you will have a STAR.

I've said this before, but I have an 8 year-old daughter~ There's a connection here.....If I were you, I'd just be in damn tears listening to this while she was at school, etc.... LOL!   Uhh.....This is amazing~ She did very well~ Very well indeed, brother!! Now, you've got me thinking of having my girl sing on a song and post it~ I'm definitely going to try!! Excellent post mate!!

Super singing voice! If you aren't coaching, then it's obviously natural talent - IMHO, time and frequency would be a great thing. She's good, let her sing!

Thanks for the post,

Mark

Great performance!!! It's so great to be able to hear the young voices 10 years before they become famous!!!  :) :) :) :) And tho' my daughter "aca" is twice her age I really can relate to the proud feeling you must have now!

And Kayla, if your dad shows you this post:
THIS IS REALLY GOOD !!!                                                                   THIS IS REALLY GOOD !!! And your guitarskills are amazing for your age (I watched the video).

Take care

Unfortunately we live in a fairly small town and the only singing teacher in the area, when i spoke to her, didn't come accross as very friendly. We're looking at options in the next town but being more than 30 minutes away it does become difficult with school and all.

I was expecting a lot worse than this - you didn't big her up much! This is very good, she holds the tune pretty well and has a lovely delicate quality on the quiet bits. There's a lot of potential here, she should be VERY happy with this attempt.

Cheers,

Nigel
