Stuttering on Songcrafter player

For the last couple of days I have been getting an annoying stuttering effect when listening to songs posted using the Songcrafters player.  Not only does the song stutter and hesitate, but the timer also hesitates at the same time.  At first I thought that it might be just a blip on my internet connection but there is no such hesitation on Youtube, Reverbnation, Soundcloud etc - even when I listen to such links embedded in Songcrafters messages.

I have recently given in to the constant microsoft pestering to "upgrade" to Windows 10 although I can't be certain that the stuttering started at exactly the same time.  Everything else seems to work fine.

A bit annoying.  Has anybody else noticed it?

i get it from time to time too. when it happens i change to the old player and it works fine. i have only had this problem since upgrading to windows 10.

I use always the old player, never had any problem. But, with "new" player, it stops each time around one minute.

I haven't upgraded to Windows 10 and lately I've been experiencing the stuttering on the new player more often than not. When it happens, like others have said, I open the old player and that works.

For the last couple of days I have been getting an annoying stuttering effect when listening to songs posted using the Songcrafters player.  Not only does the song stutter and hesitate, but the timer also hesitates at the same time.

After you've played the song once, does it play smoothly if you listen to it a second time? If so, then the problem is that, for whatever reason, your computer isn't downloading the data fast enough for smooth streaming. It could be that the Songcrafters server is busy. Or it could be your internet provider or computer. Since several people are reporting it, I assume it's our server. I haven't noticed it to be particularly slow but it's possible.

If the old flash player works better for you, use that. If you'd prefer to use the HTML5 player, try pausing the player just after the song starts and waiting about 10 seconds. This allows it to buffer most or all of the song so that when you resume playing it, it plays smoothly because it's getting the data from the local buffer rather than the internet.
