Thanks all.  Sadly this seems to be a current topic all too often.

Jim asked me to post the lyrics, I've only just got the time to copy them out, they were written long hand in my book till now.

I'm developing the plan
Now you'll see that I'm the man
Because I've got my action-cam
I know it's right and that's the plan

Now it's nearly now the day
I'm gonna see you all away
Just try and stop me now you can't
no you can't

---

I got my weapons at the mart
Ammunition in the cart
[of] every trip it's a part
And now I've got it in my holster

Look on Facebook you can see
And on YouTube yes it's me
And you can watch my spree
What I get up to with my holster

I may be the little guy
but I'll teach you how to cry
You'll maybe learn how to die
by what I got inside my holster

In the cinema and school
This is where I'm gonna rule
and I'm no longer the fool
from what I got inside my holster

----

I'm developing the plan
And I've got my action-cam
and so you'll know who I am
and what I've got inside my holster

I was planning this for years
determination as it nears
for you pain and your tears
All from what I've got inside my holster

I know the weapons I will use
and you can see which ones I use
on twenty four hour news
you'll see the weapons in my holster

Now it's done the barrel's hot
I only need one more shot...

Wow Nick, that is some great commentary, I'm am quite speechless - a very deep and though provoking tune.

As a Brit, I always find the gun culture in the States quite a shock, walking into Dicks Sporting Stores and seeing bullets and knifes on the shelfs in line with swimming googles still leaves me speechless. The gun crime stats in the States are pretty damning, and never happens now in the UK since Hungerford 20 years ago (after which gun ownership was banned in the UK). I don't live too far from Hungerford - its a sweet little 'nice' up-market town, I wouldn't have thought that was possible there, and still find it strange that it happened. One guy and a gun changed its history!

Great recording Nick
In this weird world we live in now -
your lyrics are bang up to date
Scary but true-

You put over the message well with this one. Great track and vocal, a song full of meaning and well produced. Great stuff

A brave choice to tackle a topic as sensitive as this, especially from the viewpoint of the perpetrator. It works brilliantly well, though - when the gunshots start it's quite harrowing. Love the production too - that lonesome pedal steel is perfect. Bravo!!!
