So here's my attempt at a double fester, I'm like a 4 year old with those purtty banners. This was my first post & my first tune recorded on my own with my Boss Br900. I really didn't think I would go back to this one but never say never. I did this in the car yesterday on the 008. I got a cheap transducer pick up for my baritone uke so I went 2 track simultaneous for the main track and built on that.
the original is here https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=3269
not sureit's improved but here's the new version.

1 baritone uke
1 Baritone uke/vocal
1 drums (garageband-stereo)
1 percussion (drumjam-stereo)
1 electric piano (garageband-stereo)
1 U bass
1 pedal steel (thumbjam-stereo)

My Brothers Tree
written & performed by Hook
This life has been left for you
a way to remember true
all the love that made you you
this is my brother's tree

A place where I can breathe with ease
& relax in the shade of your leaves
a place where you're not just memories
next to my brothers tree

a stupid accident took you away from me
it can happen that easy
just when you think never
never begins to happen
& it changes your life forever

sometime I fall to my knees and weep
but this is a promise to myself I intend to keep
I'll see to it these roots grow deep
under my brothers tree

a stupid accident took you away from me
it can happen that easy
just when you think never
never begins to happen
& it changes your life forever

This life has been left for me
it's beauty born of tragedy
your spirit lives in these branches I believe
long live my brothers tree

A very emotional song with a message that brings it home to all of us that life is so precious. Thank you for sharing those thoughts with us in this lovely song. God bless.

Way to go Hook, The versions are so different, and as good as each other,
I listened to this one first then to the original, I was so surprised at the difference,
Love them both,
So well written and performed.

Loved already the original. Here you have recycled your song to another genre, it is always fine!! Brilliant job!

The expansion is certainly interesting, though I have to admit to having a soft-spot for the original. Anyway, well done.  8)

So different from the original. It shows how good the song is. I must say I agree with SteveB.

Both versions, as different as they are, have their own appeal but I think the first version is so well done that it's hard to improve upon it. Nice work Hook!
