bin messing about with the drum pattern arranger but im rubbish at doing drums, i noticed the software came with some blues arrangements, is there anywhere i can download arrangements,
if not i have an idea for a wee bit of fun, someone who is good at arranging drums posts a pattern/song and everyone else sees if the can come up with some music and vocals to go with it, mibbes even someone could put a bit of bass on it post it back and someone add some guitar keyboards whatever till we have a complete song or few songs you get the idea whatdaya think?

That's a great idea, I will see what I can come up with.

I've been trying out different drum sequencer software and saw this post, so here ya go:

Drum-N-Bass test that you can download and mess around with.

http://www.joelcardinal.com/music/DrumNBass-62bpm.mp3
(right click on the link and select "Save Target As..." to copy the file to your computer)

-Drum samples from www.betamonkeymusic.com
-Drum sequence created in Beatcraft (www.acoustica.com)
-Bass recorded through Micro Br to laptop with Tracktion
-Converted to MP3 with Audacity

Beatcraft is better than the drum sequence software I tried last night, LeafDrums.  The workflow and 24bit compatibility features were the perks.  I will admit, Beatcraft crashed on me, 3 times and I couldn't get VST's to work with it, but for only $40 I am thinking seriously about getting it.

And another thing...

I was thinking about this song collaboration idea of yours and was trying to think of the best way to organize the process.  I am sure no one will want to pay for the disk space for track files so it will have to be links to the file (from wherever you find a place to upload it, like I did above).  And since .wav files are too large, and not universal we should probably keep them as .mp3.  I guess .ogg might be another consideration.  And perhaps we should keep each "song" under it's own topic so the thread on it's evolution can easily be read.  Maybe the forum would need a new catagory heading to house the song threads.

You can upload your MP3 or WAV file to the forum as long as it is smaller than 4MB using the atachments feature by choosing Additional Options (when composing your post) and then Attaching the file.

There is already a section for sharing original work, at http://microrecorders.org/community/index.php?board=3.0.

I moved this topic to General Discussion because I thought it didn't quite fit the Post Your Work section. I think it is more of a general interest for the community and belongs to the General Discussion.

By the way, nice starting track there groovedude. :)

Awesome, thanks for the info Pedro!  That will make posting tracks much easier.  When I put together another track I'll upload/post it as you described.
