I changed my strings.  I find after a year or so they sound a bit dull.  And then after two or more they're right off.  They're Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys, 009's if you're interested.  And I lifted the action a little to reduce the fret buzz because I wanted a good clean sound for this.  (The guitar is a 1982 (give or take a year) Tokai Breezysound (tele)).

There is also my Squier Jaguar bass rumbling away in there too, although there's GB bass as well (truth be told I recorded the Squier an octave too low and had to put some higher content over it).  The tuning on the guitar is like drop-d and then dropped another semitone across, so the low string is d-flat.

And there had to be some vocals. so I did some.  Less said soonest mended.

The song is off of PUSA's first album.  I like it for the quirky lyric, amongst other things.  I'm listening to a lot of PUSA stuff at the moment.

Anyway, Enjoy.

I remember this tune, I know very little about this band though. Sounds nicely grungy. I think the vocals are rather good, they have swagger. That bass sounds super distorted (in a good way) :-) Very nice cover.

I don't know the original, but was transported by this cover. Sounds amazing. Those clean arpeggio'd guitar tones are right up my street, and the contrast with the heavy, scuzzy parts are brilliant. Really clever and cool performance. Excellent.

wouldn't give this band the time of day back in the day, but that just shows a youthful arrogance. This was a great cover of what I find to be a great song.  Thanks for posting.

A really engaging post. I especially love that little, quarter-tone bend that reoccurs several times.  Nicely done.

PUSA was a fav bands to me in the 90's. Still own couple CDs from them!

Really nice interpretation! Well sung and played and the tones are incredible fantastic!

Never got into PUSA so I can't compare this to the original as I don't know it. Enjoyed your version though - well played and nothing wrong with the vocal - it fits in perfectly and reminded me of Lou Reed in places.

I'm ashamed to admit I didn't know the original either ... So I YouTubed it.
Your version holds up very favourably to my ears.
Lovely mix & mighty fine vocals.

Nicely done 8)
