Bus Stop cafe
He walked into that small cafe
He had a guitar on his back
He sat down over in the corner
he ordered coffee---black

The waitress looked across at the barman
she had a big smile on her face
she'd seen too many guitar pickers
pass along thru' this place

Ch.....
So no one asked him to play
no one asked him to play
For those working in the cafe
It was just another day.

She remembered black haired Johnny
above the rest he was the king
he promised her the moon and stars above
he promised her everything

so no one asked him the the time of day
no one even looked his way
Too many long legged guitar pickers  have been through
at this bus stop cafe

Ch.
So no one asked him to pay

I'm loving the acoustic guitars Tommy, especially the top and tail, and the storytelling too. Kinda reminds me of some impromptu café gigs of my own  ::) :o

Keep 'em coming Mr K!

Hey Tommy

You got me with that great intro. A thoroughly enjoyable listen mate. I always enjoy a good song about the trials and tribulations of a good ol guitar slinger! Lovely lovely feel to this - transporting many of us here into the zone of that troubador.

Cheers

Tommy you are nailing this C&W Fest to the wall! You have it down my man....this song and your performances on guitar and vocal sounds like a cross between Marty Robbins and Johnny Cash....you can't go wrong there!

Even by your high standards, this is superb, Tommy. Those acoustic guitar parts are beautiful, and beautifully recorded too. Definitely got that Mexican "cantina" sound to it. Brilliantly catch melody too. Excellent stuff!!!
