This is one I recorded a while back, but was never 100% happy with the mix. I left it for a while and I've just got round to re-mixing it this weekend.

It's a cover of an old Herb Alpert tune which always seemed to be on the radio when I was a kid & always makes me feel nostalgic when I hear it.

Gear wise, the drums were Cakewalk Studio Instruments ("Slight Beef" preset kit); Hammond organ was a plug in called "ORGANised Trio" on the "Deep Rock" preset. Bass was courtesy of my old faithful ebay special, and the guitars were: Vintage AV3 (lead) and Vintage V6 (rhythm).

Thanks for listening  :)

FANTASTIC! A great guitar rendition of Herb's A Taste of Honey. This song always caught my ear when it was on the radio air waves with Herb's trumpet, with the Tijuana Brass, blasting out the melody and rhythm. Your guitar work does it way more than justice. I like the way you've energized and rocked it up...excellent tones and style Johnny!

Yes, fantastic indeed, I agree!!!

...And it reminds me to my childhood years, since for many years this was the beginning music of one of the most popular radio programs here in Italy, with live results and comments of the Serie A soccer championship. It was called "Tutto il Calcio minuto per minuto"

Thanks for bringing back to those years!  :)

OH wow!  I love this!

Brilliant in every way.  Cool guitar playing and a great arrangement.

I always secretly quite liked Herb - possibly because the trumpet was my first instrument.

An easy listening classic, to be sure, but I love the bonkers rock treatment you've brought to the table.

A great idea to cover this song this way.
Outstanding guitar work - though, I don't care for the drum sound - brilliant nostalgic, rocked up version.
Top marks.
There is a beautiful symphony playing within us all..

Mate... this is honestly superb.

I love music that has a little phrasing in it and not just going through the motions of throwing some licks on a looping drum pattern. But anyway, lovely playing, really, fluid, interesting and very well played. Wish i could do that... darn!!

 :) :)
