Every second Thursday of the month
We nurse our drinks and back pocket scraps of poetry
And hope that dreaming is enough

I've got my headphone deflector shields on full
To repel the raids
Of boring routine and its military coup
To bring down my day

Yes... it's a long time. Probably is 5 or 6 months, and nearly 3 album's worth of new material.

Not been in the best place musically, but still find myself recording in the middle of the night or early in the mornings at weekends.

This was one of the rare ones that 'felt right'. I think the difference was that I played and sung it a lot acoustically for a couple of weeks before recording it. I'm too impatient to do that normally, but it does help shape the sound I'm after and smooth out any problems.

It'd definitely one I'd play live. If I ever play live again... :-(
