"Levity" Hook's LACII original for C&WFest (video)

So Wednesday I picked up a Puerto Rican Cuatro for $40 off craigslist and it is awesome. It's a 10 string lute set up in courses(pairs) like a mandolin but it's tune like a 5 string bass B E A D G. The 2 low pairs are octaves and the other 3 pairs are unison. I haven't found a good chord chart yet but have figured out  few and decided to write the Let's All Collaborate II song with it and I think it came out kinda country. The band and I might take a crack at it later but there just seem to be so many damn songs floating around my head.
The video was shot with my Tascam DR-V1HD and the audio was recorded with the 008's stereo mics. Edited with Wondershare Video Editor  & as I watch it now on youtube it seems to be out of synch. It play right in the editor...this video crap is hard to get right!!!!

Pretty good Hook! You worked the lyric phrasing well on those lines that had a lot of words to them. It was great to get a peak inside your mobile studio  . The Cuatro looks and sounds great!

btw... I still think a nice "eeeeeeyyyaaaaaggggg" at the end would have been a cool way to end it!

Awesome brother - that new instrument sound bloody amazing. I've never heard of a Cuatro and it looks like an absolute bargain! I'm sure it will get some great use :-) I'm looking forward to many, many songs on this- this is a great opening gambit, great use of these lyrics.

Not an instrument I've ever encountered before, but it sounds perfect for this. Love the chord progression & melody you've concocted for this. You sing it superbly too. Congratulations to all involved!!!

Probably the cuatro, but this reminds me of some of the stuff Nil Lara does. A shame he never broke big (one of my favorite singers). Loved the tune and the new toy. It recorded really well to my ears.
