Wouldn't be a complete festival if I didn't have a late submission, now would it?  ;)

The Kinks, from a 1965 photoshoot

This song is one of my faves from the third album released by The Kinks: Kink Kontroversy, released in November of 1965. I "unlocked" the chords on this one when I discovered the opening chord by accident (some kind of oddball Csus4/add9 chord - wonderfully discordant). Anyway, the rest of the chords came together fairly quickly, and I arranged the percussion in Cubase 5 Essentials (fairly slowly) - I added vocals and bass today.

As usual, got a sore throat for this one (too many vocal tracks at the end), but in this case it served me well: got some scratchy Dave Davies-style backing vocals with it.  :)

Thanks for listening,
cuthbert

Great job, cuthbert. I'm not familiar with the song but I like it. That opening chord sounds like the one from Hard Day's Night. Your vocals are excellent. I especially like the background vocals. Is that the Korg Mini-Pops rhythm machine I hear?

Listened a few times now and I really like this. Now I want to find The Kinks' original to see where this came from. It's a cool song.

Top class job as always! You've captured very original "60's sounds" on your guitar. Well produced as well!

I like the vocals and harmonies - stunning job! Piepod bound!

ps.I'm not familiar with this either...had to watch the original.

Oh yes, you put such a lot of attention to detail in all your songs. Excellent.

If you're getting a sore throat from singing too much, you're doing something wrong. If you overdo it, singing wise, you lose vocal quality but it shouldn't hurt. Singing with a sore throat can cause permanent damage to your vocal chords.
