Sounds great! Very good performance. I like that soft and lazy sound.

Thanks for all the nice feedback, folks! Much appreciated!

I found that somehow the wrong mix got uploaded (an acoustic lead was missing, and the other was too loud and in the wrong pan position), and so I did another mix and replaced the original. Hopefully the lead parts sit better in the mix.

Quote from: 64Guitars on September 07, 2015, 09:24:16 PMThat opening chord sounds like the one from Hard Day's Night.

Yes, you're right! I think I subconsciously made it more so by adding the bass note as part of the chord - don't recall hearing bass there in the original, but I could be mistaken. Anyway, the chord was that C9sus4 thingy and the bass note was D.

Quote from: 64Guitars on September 07, 2015, 09:24:16 PMIs that the Korg Mini-Pops rhythm machine I hear?

I started this using just the on-board BR-80 metronome, in 4/4. Pretty sure there's more than one time signature on this, but it turned out the percussion was sort of an afterthought anyway. I started with the Rock3 preset of a Kontakt Roland CR68 rhythm machine, but that didn't address the crescendo parts at all, so I ended up playing those my parts myself from my keyboard with the various samples - bass drum, snare drum, and open high hat.

Quote from: Hilary on September 08, 2015, 03:47:16 AMIf you're getting a sore throat from singing too much, you're doing something wrong. If you overdo it, singing wise, you lose vocal quality but it shouldn't hurt. Singing with a sore throat can cause permanent damage to your vocal chords.

Thanks for the tip, Hilary! Usually, I get vocal fatigue and start sounding rough (I even get this if I talk too much), but only when there are lots of vocal tracks. There are six vocal tracks on this, and many with multiple takes to get right. Honestly, some of them may have been out of my comfort register. My voice seems fine today, so I think all's well, but I'll keep this in mind and try to take more breaks. It really is most often a case of rushing to get too much recorded in a short period of time.

Thanks again to everyone for listening, and for posting comments.

Shameless bump for the KinksFest... :)

I hope to get a few in for this fest before it's over, and hoping The Man gives me some spare time so I can do it.
